Please note:  Bishop Alexander will be doing workshops during sessions 1 & 2 only, not session 3.. 

The Great Gathering begins the day at 9:30 a.m. This year we are proud to present as our Great Gathering speaker Stephen C. Smith, Ph.D., research chemist in the Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria Center for Global Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. 

An Episcopalian, Smith has addressed the diocesan representatives for Episcopal Relief and Development on the science of eliminating malaria.  He will share with us some important information about the part that the nets play in saving the lives of children and their families in sub-Saharan Africa.  And you will hear all about how your parishes are working to provide 35,000 bed nets and the education component that makes this program work.
