2011 Fall Presbyters' Conference 

Monday-Wednesday, September 26-28/ Mikell Camp & Conference Center, Toccoa


SPEAKER:                   

PATRICK MALLOY, Ph.D.,  Professor of Liturgics, The General Theological Seminary

Our guest speaker will talk about a project of the Standing Commission in Liturgy and Music, mandated by the 2009 General Convention, on the subject of same-sex blessings. Malloy holds a doctorate in liturgical studies from Notre Dame, as well as masters degrees from Notre Dame and Temple. He is the author of Celebrating the Eucharist. He has taught at the graduate level at St. John’s University (Collegeville, Minn.), the University of Santa Clara, and Duquesne University where he directed the graduate program in pastoral ministry. The former rector of Grace Church, Allentown, Pa., he also chaired the Episcopal Church task force that gathered liturgical material for same-sex blessings.


 

 

 

SCHEDULE AND LODGING:

Begins with lunch Monday, and continues through lunch on Wednesday. In addition to the conference speaker, the Presbyters' Conference will include time for  other diocesan business, worship, and fellowship. 

  • Rooms are available at Mikell, as well as at  special diocesan rates at  Country Hearth Inn and  Toccoa Inn. To obtain the lodging you prefer, it's advisable to register early. Single rooms are not available at Mikell.
  • Conference fees: $120 person for those lodging at Mikell; $65 for conference materials and meals only.
