Mikell Camp and Conference Center in Toccoa, Ga., has received two grants for their partnership with Emmaus House, the Diocese of Atlanta inner-city ministry.

The Episcopal Charities Foundation awarded the center $3,000 toward their collaborative effort that brings children of Emmaus House to Mikell for a weeklong summer camp.  It also sends Mikell summer staff to Emmaus House for its program to help provide academic support, meals and fun for neighborhood children.

The Endowment Board of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Atlanta, also bolstered Mikell's partnership with Emmaus House by granting nearly $1,000 in scholarship funds designated for neighborhood children.

"The Mikell-Emmaus partnership transforms the lives both of the staff who serve and the campers who are served," said the Rev. Ken Struble, executive director.  "Mikell gives tremendous thanks to the ECF and the Church of the Epiphany for living out the Gospel call to serve Christ in all persons."
