Last call for anti-racism training registrations

This is the last call for sign-ups for mandated anti-racism training for clergy and lay leaders in the Diocese of Atlanta. The next session will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Advance registration is required.

If you're in one of the following categories, this training is required:

  1. All active clergy, canonically resident and licensed, must complete anti-racism training. Clergy that transfer from other diocese or to whom a license to officiate is issued must provide documentation of training or complete training within six months of receiving either status in this diocese.
  2. Laypersons holding professional staff positions such as Christian education director, choir director, youth director, parish administrator and secretary are required to attend the training. Members of vestries and other lay leaders (volunteer youth leaders, Church school teachers and members of parish committees are also asked to participate.
  3. Nominating committees in search of prospective candidates for rector and associate positions are required to complete the training before they begin accepting names for consideration.
  4. Anyone elected in November as a delegate to General Convention must also have the training.
