MISSION STATEMENT

 

To help strengthen the Anglican Community by building a relationship
by which there is an exchange of resources, both spiritual and material,
with intensified knowledge and concern for one another
in concert with mutual encouragement and prayer.


MISSIONARIES
We currently have two appointed missionaries of the Episcopal Church from our diocese serving in Central Tanganyika, The Rev. Dr. Sandra McCann and Dr. Martin McCann, www.mccannmission.org.

COMPANION DIOCESE
The Diocese of Atlanta currently has two formal Companion Diocese relationships. Our Companion Dioceses are:

 

   The Diocese of Central Ecuador with whom our relationship has been renewed for an additional three years. The Rt. Rev. Wilfrido Ramos-Orench began on June 1, 2006 2007 as provisional bishop, for missionary purposes, of the Diocese of Central Ecuador. The renewal with Cen. Ec. Will come to our 2007 Council for renewal.
  The Diocese of Rio de Janeiro and The Rt. Rev Celso Franco de OliveiraOliviera Bishop of the Diocese of Rio de Janeiro. We renewed the relationship with Rio for another 3 years at our 2006 Council.

 

Global Episcopal Mission (GEM) Certificate Program (a 2 year program)

Gini Peterson, St Matthew's, Snellville and Mary Brennan, All Saints, Atlanta are certified as GEM Network Diocesan Global Mission Agents. Look for future graduates of this course. For further information contact: Gini Peterson , ginireid@bellsouth.net

The Global Episcopal Mission (GEM) Educational Institute: "Energizing the Grass Roots: Models for Mission" will be held at the Dubose Conference Center in nearby Monteagle, TN on June 20-22, 2007.
