Fifteen of these young people, photographed with Bishop Alexander recently on their Confirmation Day, are going on a nine-day South American pilgrimage.

As part of the Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program, teenagers are invited to make a holy pilgrimage, a culmination of four years of formation and fellowship. Fifteen 11th graders from the All Saints� J2A class will travel July 21 to Brazil as guests of Bishop Celso Franco de Oliveira of the Diocese of Rio de Janeiro.

The group is embarking upon what they are calling a �spiritual, cultural and relational� pilgrimage. They seek to build relationships with Brazilian teenagers and adults and during the nine-day visit will be joined by seven youth and three priests from the Rio diocese.

Some of the activities planned for the entire group are a visit to the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals in Rio, a tour of an orphanage outside the city, a walk to the famous Corcovado Christ statue, sharing in the many cultural opportunities Rio has to offer and worshipping together throughout the week. In preparation for building these relationships, the All Saints� youth have mailed ahead personal bios with photos as a way to introduce themselves. The group is excited for this journey and look forward to planting the seeds of friendship and love between our two dioceses.
