CANCELLED: Contemplative Vision: Photography as a Lenten Practice
March 14 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
From smart phones to cameras to tablets, and from software to apps to social media, we’ve all become photographers, documenting our daily lives (and those of friends, families and pets) with unprecedented ease and versatility. But how often do these same tools serve as tools for meditation, awareness and insight, a lens through which we more deeply encounter the world, ourselves and the sacred? Photography is all about seeing, and in Contemplative Vision we will experience photography as the practice of mindfulness, slowing down, observing, connecting, being, and making space for God— in other words, what we hope to gain from the contemplative season of Lent.
Join us as we open our eyes and hearts, renew our sense of wonder, and discover the holy in all aspects of our lives, through meditation, discussion and photographic exploration.
Participants will also enjoy a photographic “wonder walk,” which puts into practice the principles explored together in the workshop.
To register, please click here. The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 10. The cost is $10, which includes lunch. Please let us know of any special dietary requirement.
