Camp Mikell’s top priority is always the safety of its campers, guests, and staff. We are proud of both Mikell’s record of safe operation as well as it’s reputation as a safe place for the Diocese of Atlanta to gather, play, and grow in Christ. After prayerful consideration of available safety guidelines from public health authorities, as well as current camp specific resources from the American Camping Association and the Episcopal Camp and Conference Centers (ECCC), Mikell Leadership cannot envision a way to safely provide the Mikell experience and ministry in a residential camp setting in 2020. As such, Mikell Leaders, in consultation and agreement with the Bishop and Bishop’s staff, have decided the safest and best course of action is to cancel all summer programs at Mikell for summer 2020. All registered campers, families, and summer staff have been contacted directly. We ask your prayers and look forward to the time when we can all celebrate Mikell magic together again.
